Vic Evangelista
Registered Social Service Worker, Master of Social Work Student
Vic is a registered social service worker currently completing their MSW at Wilfrid Laurier University and practicing therapy under the supervision of Dr. Iris Rose. They have a previous MA in English literature and over 10 years of experience across neurodiversity-affirming services, mental health crisis intervention, postsecondary mentoring, and accessibility support.
Vic loves working with autism and is also experienced with ADHD, learning disabilities, and giftedness/twice exceptionality. They draw on their background providing academic/executive functioning skills coaching and counselling to neurodivergent folks to provide care that is warm, supportive, and deeply practical. They’re comfortable working with themes such as self-acceptance, emerging adulthood, gender identity and transition, relationship and family issues, sexual identity, school and work challenges, procrastination, burnout, and masking. Whatever the concern, they want clients to feel less alone and that their whole selves are welcome.
Vic’s therapeutic approach involves both deep listening and offering skills, depending on the client’s needs. Their overall style is person-centred, trauma-informed, and attachment-based while integrating strategies from Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Dialectical Behavioural Therapy, and Compassion-Focused Therapy. They offer clients a space that belongs only to them, where they can feel seen and understood, learn to be gentler with themselves, and explore choices in a world that can make us feel powerless.
