Dr. Richelle Wagner (PhD, R Psych)

Clinical Psychologist

Dr. Richelle Wagner is a clinician and researcher whose work focuses on supporting neurodivergent youth and young adults through strengths-based, neurodiversity-affirming care. She recently completed her clinical psychology residency at the Centre for Addiction and Mental Health (CAMH), where she trained in youth and adult neurodevelopmental programs, and is currently completing a postdoctoral fellowship focused on neurodevelopmental research. In addition to her clinical and research work, Richelle has taught as a sessional instructor at both the University of Alberta and the University of Calgary.

Originally from Edmonton, Alberta, Richelle played varsity basketball at the University of Alberta’s Augustana Faculty, where she was named an Academic All-Canadian and Athlete of the Year. Before pursuing graduate training in psychology, she spent several years working in the oil and gas industry, experiences that shaped her appreciation for the diverse life paths people bring into therapy.

Richelle approaches therapy with an intersectional lens, recognizing that neurodivergence often interacts with other aspects of health and lived experience. Her work has been shaped by experiences with athletes, individuals recovering from mild traumatic brain injuries, trauma, and chronic health conditions such as inflammatory bowel disease. She works collaboratively with clients to understand their strengths, values, and ways of thinking, drawing from a range of therapeutic approaches to support meaningful and sustainable lives.
